Fantails extensive outdoor area consists of a large grassed area which encompasses a sandpit, a climbing playground with slide, bridge and ladders, carpentry shed, bike track with runner bikes and trikes, a boat and two climbing trees. Winter calls for gumboots and raincoats. The mud puddle at the bottom of the hill is a great draw card on those wet and wild days. In summer, the slippery slide is a regular feature and the laughter of both children and staff echoes across the green hills.
Self-sustainability is an integral component at Fantails. Our garden hosts a propagation area which assists children in planting seeds and transplanting the seedlings to the gardens. These plants are nurtured and cultivated by the children to supplement the nutritional meals that we serve as part of our Healthy Heart Award.
